Healing Homosexuals?  A Workshop Exploring the Claims of Reparative Therapy and the Ex-Gay Movement
About the Presenter:
Jeffry G. Ford, MA, Licensed Psychologist received his
Master's Degree from St. Mary's University, Winona, MN.  He received his undergraduate training from the University of Northern Colorado, Greeley, CO and Bethel College, Arden Hills, MN.  He is also licensed as a Marriage and Family therapist and an Independent Clinical Social Worker.  He is the owner and director of Associated Resources in Psychology, PA in Little Canada, MN where he maintains a private therapy and consulting practice.  Jeff is a nationally known consultant and speaker on gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender issues.  Twin Cities television and radio news media frequently turn to him as a consultant on GLBT related issues. Jeff is a contributing author to the newly published book:  Sexual Conversion Therapy, Haworth Press, 2002 and also has an article published in the Journal of Gay and Lesbian Psychotherapy, Vol 5: 3 & 4, 2001.
About the Workshop:      It has been designed to meet continuing education requirements of licensing boards for 4 CEU's.  Certificates of attendence will be available.  Jeff has specialized in addressing the complexities involved with the anti-gay theory known as Reparative Thearpy.  Reparative Therapy purports to prevent and cure homosexuality.  He speaks from experience as one who studied and practiced reparative therapy for years.  Because of his personal and professional experience, Ford is able to offer accurate answers and powerful insight.  He provides useful skills and tools to challenge the dangerous use of pseudo scientific theories like "reparative" or "conversion" therapy and other discredited methods.  He was formerly the executive director of OUTPOST, an "ex-gay" ministry located in Minneapolis, MN
